Extruded Polystyrene insulation is a special, high density construction board designed to be used in situations where a high mechanic resistance is required. It is impervious to water-related damage and deterioration, making it the perfect material for areas that are damp on a regular basis.
Hotline:
XPS Insulation is massively energy efficient insulation compared to other open cell insulation products. XPS boards are 100% closed cell polymer boards, high compressive values and be easily cut and shaped as required.
Extruded polystyrene boards are used as an insulation for roof, cavity wall, floor, and perimeter insulation. XPS boards can also be used as wall cladding insulation & void filling. Extruded polystyrene rigid foam with special skin is manufactured by a continuous extrusion process which imparts a characteristic of closed cell structure giving the product its unique physical properties. Extruded polystyrene rigid boards have high resistance to water absorption, good physical and thermal properties. It is available with shiplap joints, tongue & groove edges depending on the application. XPS can be supplied from 28-45 Kg/m3.
Extruded Polystyrene insulation boards (in short form XPS boards) are Manufactured from General purpose polystyrene (GPPS RAW MATERIAL) which comes in the form of pellets typically @ 3- 5mm in diameter.
FR additive can be added to achieve Fire retardant grade product (FR grade), however Non fire retardant grade can be produced by omitting FR additive. Generally Fire retardant grade material is used for building an insulation other than cold store insulation. Non fire retardant grade is used for filling, floor leveling applications.
XPS foam has an innate combination of properties that make it one of the most efficient insulating materials available at lower cost. The closed-cell structure, responsible for the foam’s excellent moisture resistance, also contributes to its high compressive strength, and superior thermal performance.
Appplications
- Below grade (ground) slab edge insulation
- Retaining Wall Insulation
- Roof Insulation
- Wall Insultion
- Motor home and Caravan retrofit Insulation
Product Uses
Floor Insulation: The high compressive strength of Remak XPS Foam makes it ideal for insulating a wide range of floor constructions, especially those subjected to heavy loads such as warehousing, production areas, and car parks. Remak XPS Foam can absorb local peak loads as well as adjust to uneven surfaces under pressure. Dimensionally stable, it will also not attract vermin and is resistant to most ground contaminants.
Perimeter Insulation: Remak XPS Foam is ideal for perimeter insulation - surrounding the shell of a building without forming any thermal bridges. Perimeter insulation helps a slab retain warmth, further reducing the amount of heat lost through the building's foundations. Suitable for use in pervious, semi-pervious and impervious soils, Remak XPS Foam extruded polystyrene sheets deliver excellent thermal insulation. Its R-values will also help increase your Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) for a relatively low expenditure.
Inverted Roofs: As an insulation layer fitted over the waterproofing seal to help protect the membrane from fluctuations in weather conditions, Remak XPS Foam extruded polystyrene sheets are durable, do not rot or decompose. Its high compressive strength makes it an ideal insulation material for roofs subjected to heavy loads or constant foot traffic.
Features & Benefits
- Durable and sturdy for long lasting applications
- Lightweight and easy to handle
- High compressive strength
- Low moisture absorption
- Long term retained R-values
- Manufactured in Vietnam with a Fire Retardant Additive
- Environmentally friendly - HCFC free
- KPA rated to suit a wide variety of building applications
- Remak XPS Foam and the environment
Thanks to a revolutionary new manufacturing process Remak XPS Foam extruded polystyrene sheets from Foamex are also environmentally friendly. Produced with no refrigerants and HCFC free, Remak XPS Foam is a truly green building product. With Remak XPS Foam you can limit external temperature influences, reduce internal temperature fluctuations, and in turn, reduce the need for mass air-conditioning and electricity consumption. Maintaining thermal consistency means less energy is consumed, which leads to fewer greenhouse emissions.
