Applications for Remak rock wool pipe insulation include industrial and process pipe work operating at temperature up to 650 degrees Celsius making it ideally suited for application to high pressure steam lines, turbines, boilers and integral pipe work, control valves, steam heaters, turbine pumps etc. With the addition of an aluminium foil facing, Remak stone wool pipe sections are designed for thermal and acoustic insulation of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning pipe work services operating in the temperature range 0 degree Celsius to 650 degrees Celsius (80 degrees Celsius limiting the outer foil temperature.)  Remak rock wool pipe insulation is highly water repellent making the product extremely suitable for applications in conditions where water may penetrate the insulation system.

We are able to face the stone wool pipe insulation with a foil facing or E Clad with a UV resistant 1577 Venture cladding for piping exposed to the elements.

APPLICATION
Appropriate Stone Wool Prefabricated Pipe according to nominal diameter of the pipe line to be used is chosen. It is placed by parting cut line. The application is completed so that no gap is left between the joints. Unfaced pipes are coated with bituminous emulsion or bituminous membranes, galvanized or aluminium jacket. Coating joints are fastened by adhering, clamping, riveting or screwing. For the pipes coated with aluminium foil that are used for the insulation of cold lines, adhesive tape on overlap allowance and vapour barrier foil coating make the installation process notably easy. In this application, the joint of the two pipes should definitely be sealed with an adhesive aluminium foil tape with 7,5 mm width and vapour passage should totally be prevented. If a double layer application for the pipe insulation is carried out, care should be taken to line up the joint of second layer with the bottom of the pipe and to ensure the joints are staggered.

PERFORMANCES

- Working temperature: Up to 750 °C.
- Thermal performance: Remak Stonewool Pipe Sections have a thermal conductivity of 0.034 W/m.k at 25 °C mean temperature.
- Fire safety: Unfaced Remak Stonewool Pipe Sections are non-combustible when tested in accordance with IS 3144, BS 476 (part 4), ISO 1182 and ASTM E136 and are classified as class A1, in accordance with European norms.
- Unfaced, FSK and Aluglass-faced KIMMCO Stonewool Pipe Sections have the following fire safety rating achievements:
- Class 1 surface spread of flame in accordance to BS 476 (part 7).
- Class 0 in accordance to the BS 476 (part 6  & 7) and to British Building Regulations.
- Surface burning characteristics in accordance to ASTM E84 / UL 723: a. Fire spread index: Less than 25. b. Smoke Developed index: Less than 50.
